Special Issue on First Brazilian Conference on Composite Materials – Editorial Forward
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the wake of Brazil becoming a member nation in the International Committee on Composite Materials at ICCM-17 in Edinburgh, Scotland (2009), the Brazilian composites community decided it was time for Brazil to organize the first conference in the area. Research and development in composites have been successfully conducted in Brazil long enough and scientists usually communicated their work in international conferences overseas or in limited seminars within local conferences. However, the maturity and high quality of the research conducted and the increasing importance of the composites industry demanded a conference in Brazil.
