Abstract

In a wide range of technological applications, major structures are made using metal fibre laminates because of their great strength and environmental friendliness. Compression moulding was used to create a titanium core with a Kevlar/Jute fibre laminate and abrasive water jet machining was used to investigate the laminate's machinability behaviour. The goal of the project is to establish the connection between the variables of abrasive water jet drilling like abrasive pressure, traverse rate, abrasive quantity rate and nozzle distance to assess the material removal rate of metal fibre laminate. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method was utilized to assess the influence of each parameter on the outcome. It was found that the aqua jet pressure was most predominant affecting factor (72.028%) on material removal rate trail by abrasive quantity rate (9.54%). Desirability optimization approach was adopted to optimize the process parameter range to achieve higher material removal rate.
