Abstract

The primary goal of this study is to evaluate the electrical characteristics of nano-particle-enhanced maize oil biodiesel for application in hybrid electric vehicles. The production of corn oil biodiesel begins with the implementation of the transesterification process, followed by the incorporation of varying compositions of CuO and TiO2 nano particles. Parameters such as breakdown voltage, permittivity, resistivity and electrical conductivity are used to evaluate the electrical properties of biodiesel blends. The resistivity value exhibits an upward trend as the diameter increases due to the dispersion of CuO along with TiO2 nano powder. Conversely, the breakdown voltage, permittivity and electrical conductivity experience a drop as the diameter increases. The mixing of CuO along with TiO2 nanoparticles has resulted in an overall improvement in electrical characteristics.
