Performance Analysis of Friction Materials for Brake Pad Application
Main Article Content
Abstract
The braking systems in cars convert the kinetic energy of the vehicle into heat energy in order to slow it down. The brake pad must quickly absorb heat without wearing out fast. A disc and brake pad if properly matched has a significant effect on these variables. As a result of new technology, it is now feasible to create materials that differ in their quantities and composition and combine them in regulated processes. The characteristics of the friction material have a crucial impact on brake performance. In this study, two distinct materials were selected and their usefulness for tribological features were observed and compared.
