Abstract

This paper details the design of a solar-powered two-wheeler. In the contemporary era, there was a discernible shift towards electric vehicles as alternatives to traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Envisaging the evolution of electric vehicles, it is anticipated that this transition will contribute to a gradual reduction in environmental pollution. Expanding on this trajectory, a pivotal augmentation involves harnessing solar energy through an onboard or off-board system, thereby diminishing reliance on conventional electricity grids. After the detailed design and analysis for the solar-powered two-wheeled electric vehicle, a step-through frame was finalized to install the accessories. A 1500W Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor was selected to achieve a speed of 50 kmph and a range of 60 km with a payload of 150 kg, 48V and 42Ah battery of 32650 lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) was charged with 4 nos. of 40W polycrystalline solar panels of Livfast mounted on both side of two-wheelers.
