Abstract

The growing commitment to environmentally friendly practices, commonly referred to as "Go Green," is increasingly shaping contemporary society. This movement towards sustainability is evident in diverse sectors, including aviation, which showcases a remarkable opportunity for research and innovation. A significant focal point within this field is the use of biocomposite materials derived from renewable natural sources, which offer a promising alternative to conventional composite materials that typically include a mix of metallic and non-metallic elements such as carbon and glass fibers. Biocomposites possess biodegradable fibers from hemp and wool, often combined with eco-friendly epoxy. This paper critically examines the potential integration of biocomposites into aircraft manufacturing, identifying specific components that may be replaced or enhanced with these sustainable materials. Furthermore, it evaluates various biomaterial combinations explored by researchers to pinpoint the most viable options for advancing sustainability in the aviation industry.
