Abstract

Surfaces created with bimetallic additives take the place of conventional surfaces. In this work, a Bimetallic Additively-Manufactured Structures (BAMS) is created by fusing wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) with metal forming technology. SS304L hot forged piece was used as the hybrid manufactured technology base and ER308L was used for deposition using MIG based WAAM technology with pulse and spray modes. In order to achieve successful outcomes, this hybrid manufacturing technology was ultimately examined using SEM, EDS, XRD and corrosion analysis at various zones of the manufactured BAMS, and found they have acceptable level of microstructural characteristics..
