Abstract

Size affects breakdown behavior in most materials. There has been little focus on studying the thermal breakdown characteristics of typical heat transfer fluid mediums that contain dispersed nanoparticles. Researchers attempted to quantify the thermal degradation of irregularly shaped Nickel (Ni) nanofluids in this work. To determine Ni nanoparticle crystal size and morphology, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are used. It is ultrasonically dispersed into distilled water (DW) at varied Ni nanoparticle volume concentrations. Then the resulting Ni-DW nanofluids are created and their quasi-isothermal thermograms are determined using TG and DT (DTA). According to the results, DW's thermal breakdown resistance was increased by 28% when Ni nanoparticles were used in a homogenous dispersion.
