Fabrication and Evaluation of Mechanical and Metallurgical Properties of Aluminium 8011 Reinforcement with Boron Carbide and Nickel
Main Article Content
Abstract
Due to their excellent tribological and mechanical qualities, aluminium hybrid metal matrix composites are often employed in the automotive, aerospace, and structural industries. This work focuses on the introduction of reinforcing particles into the aluminium alloy to form composites and evaluate their mechanical characteristics. Stir casting is used to create the Al alloy hybrid metal matrix composite's reinforcement from Boron Carbide and Nickel particles. The casting materials are machined to the ASTM standard size following the heat treatment procedure. At room temperature, tests for tensile strength, hardness, and impact were performed. The weight proportion of the reinforcing particles is raised, which improves the mechanical qualities.
