Conversion of IC Engine Three-Wheeler to In-campus Electric Micro Mobility by Retrofitting
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work involves retrofitting fully electric three-wheelers, which converts the holistic powertrain of the vehicle from IC engine-based to pure electric, thus reducing the landfills caused due to scrap and forwarding to clean green energy, along with the EV Policy of Tamil Nadu 2023. Not only is the process environmentally efficient but also economically efficient. This case study deals with the method in which the cost of utilizing the three-wheeler will be only 52% of the actual cost of buying a pure electric three-wheeler from the market. The results of this work are highly feasible with the achievement of efficiency both economically and environmentally. It finds its best application on in-campus and intra-industrial mobility for short distances and minimum speeds. The retrofitting technique can achieve the utmost efficiency in the electrification of micro mobility in India.
