Abstract

As India is a tropical country, where summertime temperatures can reach 45degC in such a condition car is parked for few hours then interior temperature can reach 70degC. There are numerous examples around the world where a child or pet died due to thermal discomfort and heat stroke due to left inside a parked car. The temperature rise is analysed with theoretical, experimental and CFD analysis. During the all-thermal analysis 20degC to 25degC temperature rise is observed inside the parked vehicle. To resolve this problem in this research paper focusing on one of the I-Cool material such as phase change material with high thermal conductivity that have ability to absorb more latent heat. The two types of phase change materials such as OM30 and HS29 are utilized in between roof, upholstery and in door panel. The inside temperature rise is controlled by 10degC to 11degC after using both materials.
