Jet Spread Characteristics of Chevron Nozzle
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article presents the jet spread characteristics of chevron nozzle at different axial locations of the jet comparing base co-flow and chevron nozzle. For both the base co-flow and chevron nozzle, the lip thickness chosen was 2.5 mm. The study was conducted numerically for Mach 0.6, to analyse the jet spread characteristics of both the nozzles. To get an insight of the jet spread characteristics of the chevron nozzle, the radial total pressure profiles at various axial locations of the jet were measured numerically. To have a clear view on the jet flow development in the radial directions of the jet, the total pressure contours were also studied. The results gave an overall insight about the spread characteristic of both base co-flow nozzle and chevron nozzle.
