Subsonic Jet Spread Characteristics Normal to Tab Axis for Semi Circular Corrugated Tabs
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work involves an experimental study of the spread characteristics normal to tab axis for a Mach 0.8 subsonic jet using triangular tabs with semi-circular corrugations. The semi-circular corrugation is made on the equally leaning sides of trilateral tabs that are precisely kept 180deg apart at the convergent nozzle’s exit. The jet spread examination was conducted at several axial points as 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1 and 3 fractions of the jet distance. An open jet facility is used to perform the investigations and to carry out the pressure measurements. From the results, it is found that even a small variation in the location of the corrugations on the leaning side of triangular tab can affect the jet spread and improves the jet mixing process.
