Response Surface Modeling for Saw Milling Operation of EN8 Aluminium Alloy Steel and Aluminium
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work discusses about the analysis of process parameters in saw milling process using horizontal milling machine. This project mainly focused on the analysis of machining parameters to get lowest surface roughness in saw milling process. The experiment was performed using response surface methodology (RSM) with 18 experiments. The RSM is used to investigate surface roughness, machining time, thrust force, feed force and cutting force. The EN8 steel and aluminium are the work piece materials and HSS saw milling cutter with different tool geometry is used for experimentation in horizontal milling machine. In this project the various process parameters that influences on the surface finish and machining time are varied and corresponding responses are tabulated. Finally, a relationship is made between the input parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate and responses on work piece and surface finish in saw milling using design expert software.
