Abstract

This work details the performance and behaviour of the suspension system by varying the suspension-damping coefficient for different vehicle speed over a sinusoidal bump. For this analysis 2-DoF quarter car suspension model is used. Governing equations of motion of the system are developed using Newton’s law. Suspension system functions like sprung mass acceleration, suspension deflection, and tire deflection are developed using a transfer function model. Bode plot of the various transfer functions is simulated using Matlab/Simulink tool.
